More than a place to stay
For the Yepiz family, Ronald McDonald House San Diego became more than a place to stay. It became a home where they could stay together during one of the most difficult chapters of their lives.
When Jimmy was born more than three months early, Alexandrea and Jose faced an impossible choice: staying close to his hospital bedside while caring for their three daughters. A room at the House made it possible for the entire family to stay together while Jimmy received specialized care.
Over 404 days, the House became home as Jimmy spent 105 days in the NICU and underwent 11 surgeries. Between hospital visits and medical appointments, family life continued. His youngest sister took her first steps, and his oldest sister attended kindergarten through the House’s onsite school.
Today, Jimmy is thriving. His family’s story is one example of the impact supporters like you make possible every day.
Today when I look at my son, I don’t just see the baby who overcame impossible odds. I see every person who stood beside our family and made that journey a little less overwhelming.”
Alexandrea Campbell, Jimmy’s mom
